Free Pancake Breakfast Tomorrow - March 5

Visitors to the Wyoming Senior Center tomorrow get a special treat... a free pancake breakfast delivered by some smiling young faces. The pancakes will be served by the students from Godfrey-Lee Middle School. It begins at 9:30a.m.

The Wyoming Senior Center is a unique recreation facility for anyone 50 and older that provides opportunities for fun, interaction and communication, social enrichment, recreation, volunteerism and learning.   It's operated by the City of Wyoming Parks and Recreation Department. Most programs and events are for people aged 50 and older, but some are open to any adult over the age of 18. You do not need to live in Wyoming to participate.

Wyoming Group Survives The Titanic!
A group from the Wyoming Senior Center recently enjoyed a trip together on the Titanic. This week, they headed down to the Grand Rapids Public Museum to view the Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition. They said they enjoyed the trip and are happy to report that 14 people in their group "survived." If you'd like to see the Titanic exhibit, it is scheduled to run through July 7, 2013.

Information about Autism can be found everywhere, but sometimes it’s overwhelming and that’s one of the reasons why Hope Network’s Center for Autism has started monthly networking and educational events called Family Rounds.

Clinical Neuropsychologist and Director of Children's Services Dr. Mohan Krishnan says it’s helpful for families to share what they’ve learned with each other and develop relationships.

I-196 Business Loop (Grandville Avenue/Chicago Drive) is closed at Clyde Park Avenue due to a water main break. It is estimated that the road will remain closed until 3 p.m.

Wyoming Senior Center Planning Trip to Titanic Exhibit - Feb 27

If you'd like to see the Titanic Exhibit at the Grand Rapids Public Museum in downtown Grand Rapids, you can join the Wyoming Senior Center, if you'd like. The Center is planning a trip to see the exhibit on Wednesday, Feb 27. If you are interested in joining, the fee is $15, and you can register now.

The Wyoming Senior Center is a recreation facility for anyone 50 and older who live in our outside the city. Its mission is to provides opportunities for fun, interaction and communication, social enrichment, recreation, volunteerism and learning.

Help For Seniors Learning Technology

Do you need help with your cell phone, digital camera, iPad, GPS or lap top computer? Would you like to learn how to set up a Facebook or e-mail account?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, Reverse Mentoring is for you. Come to the Wyoming Senior Center to have your technology problems resolved by our tech savvy Teen Council members. The teens will be at the center Saturday, Jan. 19, Saturday, Feb. 16, Saturday, March 16 and Saturday, April 20 from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.

This program is free for adults 50 and older. Space is limited so please pre-register by calling the Wyoming Parks and Recreation Department at 616-530-3164.
