Man found dead in Wyoming | News

WYOMING, Mich. (WZZM)- Wyoming Police are investigating the death of a known transient man.

Edward Eugene Schmeling, 54, was found Wednesday morning in a wooded lot in the 1500 block of 28th St. SW. Homeless people often use the lot as a campsite.

Police consider Schmeling's death suspicious, though they won't say how he died.

State corrections records show Schmeling was on parole for a breaking and entering conviction. He was held in jail last month on a contempt of court citation.
