News

WYOMING, Mich. (WZZM) - A new phone scam is targeting businesses in the city of Wyoming.  Police say that two different businesses have been called by someone who claims to be with Consumer's Energy.

The caller tells the businesses their electricity will be shut off if they don't make a payment immediately.  Consumer's Energy says they did not make the calls, and  says if you receive a call regarding a past due account call Consumer's Energy customer service to confirm.

The scammers have received more than 2,000 dollars from local businesses.
