Woman blames drunk boyfriend for false alarm

WYOMING, Mich. (WZZM) -- A Wyoming woman says a call her boyfriend made to the police brought dozens of officers and the swat team to her door for no good reason.

"My boyfriend is drunk and crazy and he started a lot of stuff trying to ruin our day," explains Lisa Crawford.

Tuesday afternoon a Wyoming Police spokesman says all available officers responded after a caller reported someone had a stab wound, shots were fired and a gunman was still inside a house on Burt Street.

When officers arrived they set up a perimeter, evacuated the house, questioned the occupants, cautiously entered and thoroughly searched.

But they didn't find any of the things mentioned in the phone call.

"We made contact with the occupants of the house, had them come out and then we did an interior sweep of the home," confirms Wyoming Police Public Information Officer Lt. Mark Easterly. "We found nobody. We found out we don't have a whole lot of anything."

"We don't know why my boyfriend called the police or what he said to them," says Lisa Crawford. "That was some low down dirty stuff."

Police don't say it's the boyfriend, but say they are still looking for at least one individual who may have information about the call to Burt Street.
