WYOMING, Mich. (WZZM) -- A man has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of his 5-month-old nephew. The infant's father has also been charged in the case.

Joseph Nguyen is charged in his nephew Isaiah's death after he allegedly put two pillows and three blankets over him in his crib; while Viet Nguyen is facing charges for lying to the police, according to court documents.

The two were arraigned Wednesday morning in Wyoming District Court.

The men brought Isaiah to the hospital on Dec. 26. Court documents show the boy was dead on arrival.

Joseph later admitted to police that Isaiah had been crying and he tried to quiet him down by covering him. Joseph went on to say the infant was covered with the blankets for an hour and a half.

Authorities said in a court document, "No reasonable person could think a 5-month-old baby could survive the condition," the baby was placed in.
