Metro Health deal with Tennessee company off
News

WYOMING, Mich. (WZZM) -- A planned partnership between Metro Health and a large, national for-profit health care company is no longer going to happen.

Tennessee-based Community Health Systems had been working on acquiring 80 percent of Metro Health for almost two years.

However, Metro Health on Monday announced the two cannot agree on some important details and the deal will not be closing.

The plan's supporters had said Metro Health would be financially stronger and have better resources under it, but critics were concerned about protecting the charitable assets of the nonprofit Metro Health.
