WYOMING, Mich. (WZZM) -- Students thinking about a career in law enforcement are getting some first-hand experience this week.

Forty West Michigan high schoolers are spending the next few days in an intensive, hands-on training program that mirrors the real police academy.

Students are going through physical training, learning about patrol operations, and community policing. At the end of the week, the students will go through a graduation ceremony.

The Wyoming Police Department is hosting the Metro High School Police Academy with cooperation from about ten other departments.
