WYOMING, Mich. (WZZM) - A Jenison man was sentenced to two years of probation and community service for his role in a fatal crash last September.

Max Jurewicz, 22, pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge in February in the crash that killed Christian Goudy, 19. He was sentenced Monday morning.

Jurewicz drove a jeep through a red light at 44th Street SW and Burlingame at about 7:30pm on September 13, when he slammed into Goudy's vehicle. Goudy was killed and his passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries.

A previous version of this story incorrectly reported that alcohol was a factor in the crash. In court Monday, the judge indicated that neither alcohol, drugs, nor distractions were involved.
