Daughter charged in hatchet attack found incompetent | News
WYOMING, Mich. (WZZM) -- A West Michigan woman charged with attacking her parents with a hatchet will likely not stand trial.
A psychiatrist says 28-year old Amber Wilson is not competent for trial, or to assist in her own defense. A judge will review that finding
On March 6, police say Wilson swung a hatchet at her 63-year-old mother and 74-year-old stepfather and said they were "going to die." The parents, who were not seriously injured, escaped and flagged down a patrol car.
Wilson was charged with attempted murder and felonious assault after the attack.
