UPDATE (Tuesday,  4 p.m.)-- Montcalm County sheriff's deputies are releasing the names of a Wyoming couple accused of stealing scrap metal.

Connie Lynn Whitney, 37, and Havier Madera Sanchez, 32, were formally charged with larceny under $200 Tuesday.  They are currently free on bond.

SIDNEY TOWNSHIP, Mich.—A Wyoming couple is facing charges for allegedly stealing scrap metal from a Montcalm County home.

Around 12:45 p.m. Friday, a neighbor noticed the couple loading scrap metal into a vehicle parked on property at West Stanton Road in Sidney Township. The neighbor contacted a relative of the homeowner, who called Montcalm County dispatchers.  The suspects were preparing to leave as deputies arrived and arrested them.

Investigators are withholding the suspects’ names until they are formally charged.  The couple remains in the Montcalm County jail.
