First storm of the spring!

First storm of the spring!

WYOMING, Mich. - The first storm of Spring 2011 blew into Wyoming, right about the time spring started.

At about 8:00pm, lightning could be seen to the northwest from the 56th and Ivanrest area out over the Maple Hill Golf Course.  By 8:30pm, very small hail was pelting decks and windows from the north.

Lightning and thunder rumbled through the evening into the night, ending around midnight.

Vanguard Academy students help encourage racial diversity

WYOMING, Mich. - Monday is the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, so Vanguard Academy students are drawing attention to diversity education by wearing all white—the only color that is found in every other color of the rainbow.  In addition, huge pieces of white butcher paper will be displayed throughout the hallways where students will be writing comments, suggestions and thoughts on what they can do individually and as a group to battle racial discrimination in their school, home, neighborhoods and community.
