Wyoming and Godwin Public Schools Team Up to Fight Cancer

The staff members of Wyoming Public Schools and Godwin Public Schools will meet on the court for some friendly, neighborhood competition in the first annual Wyoming vs. Godwin staff basketball game.  In an effort to raise money for both district's Relay For Life teams, this family-friendly event will be held at Rogers High School on April 28, from 6 to 9 P.M.

In addition to the game, there will be other activities for attendees including a 3-point shootout contest, a dunk contest, carnival games, relays, a cake walk, and even a half-time dodgeball game.  Admission is $2 per person or $5 per family with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society's "Relay For Life" Wyoming/Grandville event.

Students send Easter gifts to soldiers serving overseas

Students in Mrs. Rosema's 2nd grade class at Vanguard Charter Academy are showing U.S. soliders serving overseas how compassionate and thoughtful they are. They just shipped a large package of Easter cards and treats to the troops.

Time to think about running for City Council

WYOMING - Three positions will be up for grabs this fall on the City of Wyoming City Council.  Councilmember 2nd Ward, 3rd Ward, and one at-large member will be elected on November 8, 2011.  All three positions are for four-year terms.

Candidates must be registered electors in the City of Wyoming and a resident for at least one year before the filing deadline.  The filing deadline is 4:00pm on May 10th. 

Candidate packets with required forms and instructions are available at the City Clerk's Office.
