 WYOMING, Mich.—   The City of Wyoming is recruiting for its 2014 Citizens Academy.

The Citizens Academy is a four-week course informing residents about how the local government works and impacts neighborhoods.  The academy is aimed at promoting leadership while providing city administrators feedback to consider while making decisions that impact Wyoming residents.

The Citizens Academy will take place Tuesdays, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. March 18- April 8.  Classes will be held throughout the city, including City Hall, the Department of Public Safety Building and the Wyoming Public Works facility.  Graduates of the course will receive a certificate and be recognized at the April 21 city council meeting.

Topics will include:

  • Tuesday, March 18 – City Administration
  • Tuesday, March 25 – Public Safety
  • Tuesday, April 1 – Public Works and Utilities
  • Tuesday, April 8 – Community Services
  • Monday, April 21 – Recognition Ceremony
