WYOMING, Mich.—There’s a new place to eat in Wyoming, bringing more jobs to the Godfrey Lee neighborhood.

The new McDonald’s celebrated its grand opening July 11 with a ribbon cutting and flag raising ceremony. Wyoming Mayor Jack A. Poll, members of the West Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Hispanic Center of Western Michigan joined owner Tony Castillo for the event.

The restaurant located at 1115 Chicago Drive SW is the first new business to be built in the area in more than a decade.

“The positive economic effects of this McDonald’s are already apparent,” said City Manager Curtis Holt. “In addition to advancing physical development in the area, this restaurant has brought 50 jobs to the Godfrey Lee area in Wyoming. We are very pleased to welcome Tony and also thankful that he has chosen to expand on his already proven track record here in Wyoming. His success and strong community spirit will surely benefit our residents and the City of Wyoming as a whole.”

Castillo, who already owns and operates three McDonald’s restaurants in Holland, was recently named the company’s Golden Arch Award winner, as well as the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s 2014 Hispanic Business Person of the Year.
