WYOMING, Mich.--   The newly renovated Wyoming Senior Center Community Room is once again welcoming visitors.

The remodeling project included updates to the flooring, walls, ceiling, lighting and furnishings as well as adding a new state-of-the-art bingo machine that allows participants to use computer tablets along with traditional bingo cards.

The $240,000 project was paid for using a Community Development Block grant, WSC’s Senior Fellowship Club and the Parks and Recreational Department’s operational millage.

“The WSC was originally built in 1977, and with the growing number of individuals in our community over the age of 50, it is important that we find creative partnerships to update recreation facilities like the WSC when possible,” stated Wyoming Mayor Jack Poll.

The WSC Community Room is primarily used for larger activities and special events, including corporate training workshops, wedding receptions and class reunions.

This was the third renovation project over the past five years at the WSC.  Previous work included renovating the lobby and game room.

The WSC is located at 2380 DeHoop Ave. SW.  The center provides a variety of programs and services to adults 50 years of age and older, including fitness, dance, creative arts and social activities.  For more information, contact the WSC at 616-530-3190, or mywsc@wyomingmi.gov .
