Rogers Ladies Volleyball Players "Dig Pink" For Breast Cancer Research

This fall, the Rogers High School volleyball teams hosted two “Dig Pink” events to raise money for breast cancer research.  The events were organized by Rogers sophomore Kayleigh Vigh who, while reading about other schools who have organized similar events, thought it would be great to get her school involved.  Because she is related to a survivor of breast cancer, Kayleigh connected with this idea and was compelled to see it through.   Dig Pink T-shirts and Reminder Bracelets were sold over a two week period and at the events, with proceeds going to the “Side-Out Foundation” who raises money specifically for this cause.

On October 5th, the first Dig Pink event was held.  Due to the success of the first event, a second “Pink Out” event was scheduled for the October 19th home game. The pink t-shirts became quite a fashion statement at Rogers!  In a display of great sportsmanship and community fellowship, the Zeeland East volleyball team agreed to provide support and participate in the October 19th event as the visiting team.  Total funds raised by the Big Pink events exceeded $1,000.
