Metro Health Receives Recognition

The leading cause of blindness, kidney disease & amputations in adults is key to the biggest health concern, Diabetes. Metro Health has proven their commitment for prevention of Diabetes by their recent honor.

Metro Health, for the second year has received full recognition for their Diabetes Prevention Program (DPRP). The Centers of Disease Control and Prevention has presented Metro Health of this Recognition as of June 23, 2016.

The past 3 years, Metro Health has had 123 participants take part in this program. Each participant averaged 14.3 sessions attended in the first 6 months and 3.6 sessions attended in the second six months, had their body weight documented, had their physical activity recorded during the first six months and had to meet weight loss requirements.

A special 2 concert evening comes to Lamar Park with WY-FI fireworks following the show.

Trilogy and The Outer Vibe will entertain guest through the evening on Tuesday, June 28 with incredible musical talent. Trilogy, a 4 piece band takes to the stage at 7:00pm presenting classic music to currents hits. They’re the longest continually running band in Michigan. The Outer Vibe follows at 8:30pm with their unique musical energy. Fireworks will flood the sky above following the concert, roughly at 10:00pm.

Sun Title Agency, one of Michigan’s leading title and real estate transaction coordination companies, announced today the opening of the company’s new Grandville office in a converted, 3,000 sq. ft. space at 4600 Ivanrest. The transformed space replaces the company’s current location at 4693 Wilson Ave SW.

The converted space, which was formally a residential home, will accommodate as many as six employees. The new office will focus on providing commercial and residential title insurance and closing services and allows the company to expand its presence in the Grandville community.

The Community Enrichment Commission invites residents to Lamar Park as it comes alive for the first time this spring/summer on May 31.

The most popular & highly accomplished band, The Verge Piper kicks-off Concerts in the Park of the 14 band line-up for 2016, starting at 7:00pm on Tuesday at Lamar Park located at  2561 Porter Street SW in Wyoming, Michigan.

Guests will experience this free concert showcasing an assortment of music from their 2 children’s albums, along with the Rock mix-ins that made them well-known.

The State Park in Grand Haven comes to life with incredible kite performances this weekend. Don’t miss the fun!

For the 28th year, the world’s best kite flyers - individuals, pairs & teams will be performing continuously on Saturday, May 21 from 10am – 5pm & Sunday, May 22 from 11am – 5pm.

Kite enthusiast and their families are invited to experience different size kites with amazing capabilities controlled by professional kite handlers. There will also be an Open Flying Field to fly your own kite.

Free Fishing Weekend Coming Up

For the Valentine’s weekend, it’s a free fishing weekend for residents and out of state visitors.

All fishing license fees are waived for two days in Michigan, February 13 & 14 from 6:00am – 10:00pm. This allows fishing enthusiasts to enjoy the chance to catch all types of fish on both inland and Great Lakes’ waters during their respective open season. Just remember that all regulations still apply.
